Do you know the meaning of the magic word “Abracadabra”?

Abracadabra is an incantation used as a magic word in stage magic tricks, and historically was believed to have healing powers. In Hebrew it means “You create what you perceive”. So, if you were asked the question, “What do you perceive in your life?”, what would you answer? As simple as it sounds, it is thought provoking. Isn’t it?

You can boast about being a realist, seeing things in black and white. Or, you can be an eternal optimist or maybe have a pessimistic approach towards life. But one thing that remains an absolutely MUST is to live a positive life. Now, in order to live positively, you have to THINK, FEEL and BEHAVE positively. Of course, these things require time and needs WORK. We have to practice it in our day-to-day lives. It’s an entire process which one needs to learn.

Adopting a Positive Lifestyle Made Easy – The “ModyVational” Way

There are several methods which one can apply to live positively. Trushar Mody (aka Mr. ModyVational) has chalked down the main components which can help you adopt a positive lifestyle.

There are three broad components. If you manage to change your attitude, your mindset and your nature, you are sure to be one step closer to your goal!

NUMBER 1: A POSITIVE ATTITUDE (How we feel)

Effect of External environment to our internal environment

We each have the ability to choose.  The Book “Prisoner of Our Thoughts: Viktor Frankl’sPrinciples at Work”, by Alex Pattakos, demonstrates the power that what we choose and how we choose it has a direct relationship to our personal and professional success. 

Our conscience tells us right from wrong.  If we listen to our conscience, it will direct us in the appropriate direction.  We must limit our own self-deception to justify action; to propagate our own self-interest over the right action to be taken.

Here are some choices we have:

  • Regardless what happens to us we have the ability to choose our attitude
  • Understand all life moments have meaning
  • We can shift our focus in difficult situation to a positive solution
  • We can reach beyond ourselves and make a difference in the world

It is basically the way we view things in life. We are going to face failure and make mistakes. Failure is your ultimate teacher. With every shortcoming, we realize how we can do better and be better. We must learn to view our failure as “opportunities” instead of obstacles as they help us grow.

Expressing gratitude is extremely important too. You should learn to be thankful for whatever you have. Having a realistic point of view with a positive approach towards life will make all the difference in the way you see things.

If you have a positive attitude:

  • Sound becomes music
  • Smell becomes fragrance
  • Sight becomes vision
  • Touch becomes sensation
  • Taste becomes nectar
  • Smile becomes laughter
  • Movement becomes dance

And then my friend, your body will become a temple.

You see how much beauty is added to your everyday basic things by just changing your attitude? These changes emphasize how you can make your life better by making few but permanent changes in your attitude.

NUMBER 2: A POSITIVE MINDSET (How we think)

The power to regulate our mind

Our brain is the regulator of our body functions and as such the need to make it stronger and positive becomes even greater.

We have to train our brain to think and see positively. You must have heard the saying “You are what you think”. In addition to the protein, fats and carbohydrates, you need to ‘FEED’ your mind healthy thoughts too.

2300 years back, Socrates gave us a “TRIPLE FILTER TEST”. Any information you bring in your mind must pass the following three tests:

  1. Is it truthful?
  2. Is it useful?
  3. Is it good?

Don’t waste your time on things that are useless to you or which will negatively impact you. Be open to constructive advice and always strive to make yourself better than yesterday.

Meditation too, is a wonderful tool for your mind. Though neglected, only 30 mins of your daily routine dedicated to meditation can help you be a better person. It can make you calm and help refresh your mind.

If you have a positive mindset:

  • Thoughts becomes wisdom
  • Mind becomes meditative
  • Ego becomes pride
  • Fear becomes adventure
  • Jealousy becomes inspiration
  • Awareness becomes consciousness

And then, your dreams will become a reality.

All of the above changes are a direct result of a healthy mind. It will help you mature and further your understanding, resulting in better situation handling, emotional intelligence, and communication skills.

This is arguably the most important step in living positively. Mental health is equally important as physical strength and thus, it’s our duty to nourish it properly too. Afterall, a healthy mind is a healthy life!

NUMBER 3: A POSITIVE NATURE (How we are NOW)

How we behave – Our belief system

Nature in this context, has a deeper meaning. Nature here isn’t just one’s personality or individualism. It is our sub-conscious. It is also to signify the relationship to the very environment we surround ourselves to.

I call it the “PCM”. Our three-dimensional PERSONALITY, CHARACTER and MATURITY.

  • Personality is mostly our innate nature
  • Character is what we create by our actions and deeds
  • Maturity is our wisdom from experience.

We have to have a positive behavior towards people and situations. We should never let our spirit or our enthusiasm extinguish, no matter whatever struggle we have to face in our daily life. Learning from failure and keeping an optimistic progress can make the process a lot easier.

You need to be more responsive and be less reactive.

Read the above statement again. There will be situations which will test you. Always remember to think calmly and tactfully instead of losing your temper. Decisions made in anger or ignorantly can have bad repercussions.

Now let’s shift the focus to the environment side of the word nature. Nature can have a calming effect on people. Taking a walk in the woods, breathing in fresh air, smelling the fragrance of blooming flowers, etc., can help considerably reduce stress and anxiety levels. Studies have shown that there’s a collaborative relationship between human beings and nature. A human being can actually experience increase in happiness by being in contact with one’s environment.

With the ever- increasing pollution, deforestation and urbanization, the overall quality of life is being deeply affected. We, as inhabitants on this Earth should take all the necessary measures to make our future better and protect our planet. Nevertheless, we should strive to keep our nature positive. Each one of us should be more emphatic and aware of our surroundings and of ourselves. 

If you have a positive nature:

  • Vibrations become energy
  • Body becomes weightless
  • Spark becomes light
  • Soul becomes free
  • Universe becomes your home

All this will make our Life, the ultimate celebration and you will reach self-actualization.

You must’ve figured after reading the above necessities of living a positive life that the main motive of this article is to celebrate life. We should make the most of it. Negative thoughts, negative people and negative vibes are what you absolutely DON’T NEED in your life. Take each day head on. If you fail, brush yourself and fight back.

If you ever feel lost, remember we have an Ikigai. Keep wanting things and work in order to achieve them, the universe will even bow to your wants and you will emerge the winner. DON’T EVER DOUBT THAT.

A Positive Mind, Attitude and Nature is All You Need

A positive life is normally mistaken by people as one which is free of struggles or anything bad. In reality, it is a life which any human being wants to live personally, no matter the obstacles he has to face. To live that, he will have to view things without any negativity and prejudice.

The entire concept of “LIFE” is based on ups and downs. Nobody can run away from it, so the best call is to embrace and still never lose sight of your goals. We are the masters of our universe.
